Heroes - WHY - part I.

The aim of the Activity HEROES was to come from the general topic heroes/ heroines to a more specific way of talking about it. Children were to think about legendary local heroes in a first step.

The next step was to get information about the chosen heroes. This was realized in different ways. Some students went to museums. Others invited experts to get information. A lot of research was done with a variety of methods: books, the internet, interviews.

The outcome was a powerpoint presentation, which was available for the other project countries, so they got to learn about the other countries heroes.

After having done that, we decided to go into further detail and to get the students to deal deeper with the topic. They had to link the presented heroes/ heroines to the characteristics that had been found in the beginning of the second project year. So they took the mind map (which was created as the result of the activity) and thought about their heroes and how these characteristics were shown. So they had to proof that these are heroes/ heroines because they can be characterized with these features. The results were presented with posters.

WHY they were or are helpful, brave, super powerful, intelligent etc. WHY they are our heroes.
